How Hair Systems Are Made: From Raw Hair to Finished Product
Share
How is a hair system actually manufactured, from raw hair to finished product? A behind-the-scenes look for curious buyers.
Step 1: Hair Sourcing
Human hair is sourced and sorted by texture, length, and quality. Remy hair (cuticles aligned in the same direction) is preferred for reduced tangling and longer lifespan.
Step 2: Base Construction
The lace, skin, or mono base is cut and shaped according to the customer's head measurements and desired coverage area.
Step 3: Hand-Knotting
Skilled technicians hand-tie individual hair strands into the base, a process that can take anywhere from several hours to multiple days depending on density and complexity.
Step 4: Color Processing
Hair is dyed or bleached to match the customer's specific color request, including any gray blending needed.
Step 5: Quality Control and Finishing
The finished piece is inspected, trimmed, and styled before shipping.
Why Custom Takes Longer
Fully custom systems matched to your exact specifications take significantly longer than stock units precisely because of this detailed manufacturing process.
